Mindfulness/MBSR
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, or MBSR, is an evidence-based intervention used to increase awareness of your thoughts, body and emotions.
Developed in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, MBSR is the most studied mindfulness program and is widely used in hospitals, workplaces and daily life to support well-being and resilience. This is the same course used in the study that found mindfulness to be as effective as anti-anxiety medication.
The MBSR program offered through the MNPS Health Care Centers is a Group Medical Visit that accommodates approximately 20 participants who meet live-online once a week for 9 weeks. See the FAQs on this page for more information.
MBSR is for everyone — no meditation experience required.

Questions?
The MBSR course far exceeded my expectations. It opened my mind as to how my body reacts to stresses.
